Soccer can be so easy GermanTeam reaches Quarterfinals! See Results. Today the GermanTeam reached the Quarterfinal. In the second preliminaries we could reach the group victory by defeating the FC Twaves from Japan with a 10:0 and the Dutch with a 3:0. Tomorrow we will play team Cerebus from Turkey. We were very happy being able to score so many goals even though the opponent team was weak. Even more motivated we will focus on the remaining tasks. In the evening we lost a test game against the NUBots, so for tomorrow we are eager to see what we can do. (DG)

Thursday, 15.06.2006, 09:00 a.m.

Qrios First Preliminaries Won! The current day was very successful for the GermanTeam. We survived the first preliminaries and had our first game of the second round. In the afternoon we played Austin Villa, a game which we won with 3:1. Furthermore today we had a lot of testing to find further bugs. Also in the afternoon the ZDF sended live from the RoboCup halls, right in during half time of the game Paraguaz against Ivory Coast. Soon there will be another test match against Wright Eagle from China. Also the other teams as the Hellhounds, rUNSWift and the NUBots have one foot in the door of the quarter finals. Tomorrow we will continue and we will provide you with further information at first hand. (DG)

Wednesday, 14.06.2006, 09:00 a.m.

Opening ceremony Let the Games Begin! At 10:30 a.m. we had our first tournament. We had quite some problems during the game with crashing robots, luckily our goalie prevented the ASURA-team from using the advantage. In the [opening ceremony] of the RoboCup a GermanTeam Aibo brought a scissors to the Bremen Mayor. During the afternoon we made a lot of progress and managed to fix some bugs. Professor Burkhard, together with Prof. Asada and Prof. Veloso opened the exhibition "10 Years of RoboCup". Tomorrow we will have our second game of round robin against team Impossible from Iran. And also today we will have a test match against our last year finalist, team NUBots. Until that we wish a nice entertainment with the "real" Human soccerteam playing the Polish Nationalteam! (DG)

Tuesday, 13.06.2006, 08:00 a.m.

After the game is before the game Day Two! Today was the day of the test games. Our first opponent was Team "Eagle Knights". It looked quite nice, but the opponent hat some weaknesses in its defence and only a few ball contacts. Another testgame against the "Baby Tigers" was alreadz harder, even though we could decide this game for ourselves. At the evening there was a reception meeting, the free beer was gone very quickly. But the further evening went not as wished for the GermanTeam. We lost significantly against UNSW from Australia, the world champion from 2003. The only positive thing is, that the exhibition hall will be opened today until 24:00. We hope that we can use the additional 2 hours for programming and developing. Tomorrow we will have our first official game in the tournament and we can be very eager to see it. For a short impression of the games we will show a video [here]. (DG)

Monday, 12.06.2006, 07:30 a.m.

First preparations Day One! The break is over. After almost one long year the participants of the 10th RoboCup are arriving at the team area. People from Australia, Japan, the U.S., China and many other countries want to find out who did the best work in robotic soccer during the last year. Right after some remaining construction work has been done, many "robo-trainers" get together on the field to get a first impression of the field conditions and to start robot calibration. Slight changes in light, color of the goals and flags as well as carpet softness can make a huge difference. We also met many friends from all over the world again and have a lot to say to each other. Maybe in the evening we will perform a test game against our last year final opponent, the NUBots from Australia. Today we also created the unpatiently anticipated [picture album]. And today we also will give the reader a first RoboCup-related [riddle] and of course we are eager to see the real Soccer game Italy-Ghana this evening before we will be forced to leave the closing exhibition hall at 10 p.m. (DG)

Sunday, 11.06.2006, 12:00 p.m.

No dogs allowed Last Day of the Workshop! Silence before the storm. Today the Aiboteam started calmly into the day. Knowing that the next days might be very exhausting, we slept long and had a nice breakfast. Later we went back to the university campus and worked on the gameplay. Still there is much potential for improvements, but there is much visible effort, too, which gives us appetite for the competitions. Also today we were working until midnight, and to estimate the success of the day and to see what's already working we made a test game. Tomorrow morning, early at 7 the Holy Halls of the of the exhibition hall will be opened - an event, not only the Aibo-robots impatiently are waiting for. (DG)

Saturday, 10.06.2006, 10:00 a.m.
